Google Applied Digital Skills
Looking for ways to integrate technology into your teaching, while also having your students learn some practical life skills?
Google Applied Digital Skills is a free online curriculum designed to help educators integrate technology into their teaching while equipping students with practical life skills. The curriculum, suitable for late elementary to college-level learners, covers a broad range of topics that promote digital literacy and job readiness.
Through project-based units, students engage in hands-on learning experiences guided by instructional videos. The curriculum emphasizes the use of Google's Workspace for Education applications, including Gmail, Docs, and Sheets. By utilizing tools such as Google Docs and Google Sheets, students research, plan, and collaborate on real-world projects.
To make the most of this sectional, participants are encouraged to have a device with a keyboard and access to Google Classroom.

Kirk Schauland serves as the Director of Technology at Minnesota Valley Lutheran High School in New Ulm, MN, having previously served at WELS schools in Wisconsin and South Dakota. He graduated from MLC in 2005 and received his Master’s degree in Educational Technology from Dakota State University in 2017.
