Getting a S.T.A.R.T.

If you teach art, what is it that you want students to learn and how do you determine to what level the learning was achieved? To put it differently, what do you grade and how do you grade it? Attendees will be provided with 6 project ideas and support as an example of the "plug and play" structure and flexibility of Getting a S.T.A.R.T.

I've taught art for 25 years. Starting in classroom of 5th through 8th graders and now in high school, I've never doubted the value of the visual arts experience to positively impact student's lives. My hope is to help any teacher provide a positive creative experience in their classroom, regardless of how "artistic" they may feel as the teacher.
