Drawing on the
Right Side of the Brain

The presentation is based on the workbook "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain" by Betty Edwards. I asked the MVL art teacher Jason Jaspersen a couple years ago, "What skills do you want our children to have to be ready for high school art?" He responded, "Be able to draw." After talking to him more he advised me to read Betty Edwards. After reading and trying the workbook exercises on my own I started using them in the classroom with 7th and 8th graders. I will demonstrate some of the lessons and materials I used from the workbook that you can use in yours.
