ECE-K Mental Health Breakout
A child’s emotional wellness plays a key role in his or her ability to be successful at school. This presentation will highlight the common mental health issues that young children face and will bring awareness as to how these symptoms present. It will offer practical strategies that teachers can utilize to create a positive classroom atmosphere that fosters resilient and emotionally healthy students.
Whitney Donovan
Whitney Donovan is a Licensed Professional Counselor and she obtained her MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, IN. Whitney joined Christian Family Solutions in 2015. She is the School Based Counseling Program Coordinator and oversees the counseling services which are offered on-site at 19 school clinic locations around the Milwaukee area. During her time with CFS she has provided outpatient counseling at numerous school locations and at the Germantown, WI clinic. Whitney finds joy in sharing God’s promises of hope and faithfulness to those who are hurting and is passionate about equipping kids and teens with helpful resources and strategies to overcome the various challenges they face.
