For most U. S. teachers, counting homework in the grade is the norm. Yet in many other countries, homework is expected to be completed and is given feedback but does not count in the calculation of the student’s course grade. As schools move toward standards based grading, more and more teachers are choosing not to grade homework or to reduce the percentage homework counts in the grade.
