Everyone knows a parent is a child's first teacher. Family literacy theory examines the impact of the family on a child's literacy acquisition and beyond. In this sectional we will look at research surrounding the topic of family literacy along with ways to encourage families to take advantage of opportunities at home and within the community. Traditional methods will be explored along with discussion of digital tools that can support children.
