Young children have very powerful emotions. As teachers, we need to give children tools for dealing with these emotions before behavioral issues arise. Emotional literacy is giving names to feelings and learning how to handle those feelings when they arise. This sectional will give suggestions for helping children deal with strong emotions and look at ways to incorporate emotional literacy into daily classroom exchanges.
