Our IEW Experience in Grades 3–8
Discover how the Institute for Excellence in Writing’s Structure and Style program is transforming student writing across grade levels. In this session, we’ll explore the core methodology of IEW, walk through its structural models and stylistic techniques, and show how this flexible, systematic approach supports strong writing development from grades 3 through 8. At Risen Savior Lutheran School, we’ve seen a noticeable improvement in writing quality across the board—along with a measurable boost in MAP test scores—since adopting IEW school-wide. Whether you're new to the program or looking to refine your implementation, this session offers a practical, classroom-tested overview of how IEW can build confident, capable writers at every level.
