Learn some of the early signs of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in children, and symptoms that can impede functioning in an early childhood classroom. This session will also briefly review current research and provide participants with some examples of screeners that early childhood teachers can become familiar with to address developmental concerns with parents. Resources for strategies to support children with ASD will be provided.
Dr. Rachel Youngblom, Professor of Special Education, MLC
Dr. Youngblom is a Professor of Special Education at Martin Luther College. She is also a Licensed Psychologist and Nationally Certified School Psychologist. She is passionate about early identification, diagnosis, and intervention for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ages 18 months through 5 years.
