Building Musical Foundations

Music learning supports creativity, engagement, and student growth across grade levels, even in classrooms without a dedicated music teacher. This sectional will provide practical resources, grade-level goals, and easy-to-implement music activities for K–8 teachers. Participants will explore examples aligned with music standards, experience classroom activities firsthand, and leave with ideas and tools to strengthen music experiences for students throughout grade school.

Emma Nolte teaches PreK-8 general music and choir and coordinates school music programming at Westside Christian in Middleton, WI. She is excited to help students develop musical understanding through engaging instruction and enjoys collaborating with teachers to develop practical tools that strengthen music learning across grade levels.
