AI is the current buzz in education. You’ve heard about using AI, but aren’t sure where to start. Maybe you’re looking for ways to integrate AI into your teaching, but don’t want your students to become reliant on it?
This 'AI for Teachers' session is all about getting you comfortable and confident with bringing artificial intelligence into your classroom. We'll begin by discussing key considerations for using AI responsibly in the classroom, connecting these to important digital citizenship principles like data privacy and academic integrity. You'll learn fundamental prompt engineering techniques to generate effective AI outputs. The session will then explore several powerful AI tools designed for educators, showcasing their capabilities for tasks like research, creating content, and differentiation. While highlighting AI's potential, we'll also address situations where it might not be the best solution. The presentation will conclude with hands-on time, allowing you to experiment with these tools and apply new skills.
To make the most of this session, participants are encouraged to have a device with a keyboard and access to Google Classroom.
