not taken

Alternate ending to the film “Taken,” from the Director's notes:

Bryan (Liam Neeson), Leonore, and Kim have a tearful, joyous reunion at the Los Angeles airport after Kim has survived a harrowing ordeal in Paris, nearly sold into sex slavery by evil Albanians and nearly deflowered by a fat Saudi.

Her best friend and traveling companion, Amanda, was not so lucky, having been chained to a bed, repeatedly raped, and given a lethal dose of heroin in an Albanian safehouse/brothel.

Amanda has also arrived at LAX, but in a body bag now clumsily sliding down the chute into the baggage carousel.  The bag goes around and around and around, but there is no one to retrieve Amanda’s semen-filled corpse.

Meanwhile, Kim and her Mom and stepfather leap happily into their limousine. A satisfied Bryan opts to hail a cab, having proven that teenaged girls should never travel alone and should always listen to their fathers.  And if anything goes wrong, Dad will save the day, even if it involves strange debilitating karate chops and a trail of dead bodies along the Seine.

Poor dead Amanda continues to circle the baggage carousel.  Hours pass.  Eventually the lights go out.  The next morning a representative for Delta Airlines puts the body bag in a room designated for unclaimed luggage.

THE END.
