2nd PUBLIC HEARING July 17, 2023, 6:00 PM
Both hearings will be held at the Dexter Township Hall.
The future of the SAD is now in the hands of the County (no longer up to the Lake Association nor the Townships). "Notice of Public Hearings to Residents 5.23.23" was issued by Theo Eggermont at Washtenaw County with more detail about what each hearing will entail. Property owners will soon receive a mailed copy and may also view the document on the County website and by clicking on the pdf below. Per that document,
"Please TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that the owner or any person having an interest in property that is specially assessed may file a written appeal with the Michigan Tax Tribunal within thirty (30) days after confirming the special assessment roll. However, appearance and protest at the public hearing on the special assessment roll are required in order to appeal the special assessment to the Michigan Tax Tribunal. An owner or a party in interest or his or her agent may (1) appear at the hearing to protest the special assessment or (2) file his or her appearance or protest by letter before the close of the hearing."
The Silver Lake Association meets on Saturday, June 3rd, 10:00 am at the Hunt/Fish Post. Please attend the meeting if you have questions about the SAD that can be answered by the SLA Board, or send your requests to Silver.Lake.Property.Owners@gmail.com by May 31st with your questions and comments so that we can address them at the meeting.
