Drake York - Director of Choral and Vocal Music
Mr. York is the Director of Choral and Vocal Music at Millikan High School in Long Beach. An alumni of MHS, Mr. York took over for his mentor John Harvey in 2015. Previously Mr. York taught at Mayfair Middle and High School in Lakewood, CA. He currently directs all seven of Millikan's choral and vocal groups. Mr. York graduated from the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at California State University Long Beach with a degree in choral and vocal music. He holds a Master of Arts degree in education from National University. Under his direction the Millikan vocal groups have received top honors at festivals throughout the state of California. His philosophy of music education is to expose students to as many different types of music all the while creating a feeling of community and family while students perform at Millikan.

Chris Ring - Staff Accompanist
Mr. Ring has served as Millikan's choral accompanist since 2009, and is enthusiastic about the program's growth and accomplishments. He enjoys helping Mr. York bring out the best in our talented students, in class and on stage. A Cal State Long Beach graduate, Mr. Ring also directs music at La Mirada Christian Church, and at Musical Theater Academy of Orange County, and teaches private lessons in both voice and piano.
Kendra Vuk - Voice Teacher
Kendra Allyn Vuk is an award-winning professional singer and pianist, having worked as a worship leader, section leader, soloist, accompanist, and choir director in a great variety of settings and styles. She is the vocalist in her jazz band, Swing Set, the lead singer and keyboardist in a new rock tribute band, Evolution of Eve, a quartet caroler, and sings and plays regular gigs in the community. Kendra has 18 years of experience teaching voice and currently teaches voice classes, a vocal jazz ensemble and private piano and vocal students at Cal Poly Pomona, Los Angeles Harbor College, and her private studio in Cypress, CA. Kendra’s students have been featured in multiple professional productions, won local and state awards, and have won scholarships to several prominent universities. Kendra holds a Bachelors of Music in choral vocal music and a Masters of Music in vocal performance from the Cal State Long Beach Bob Cole Conservatory.
