ENSEMBLES
Concert Choir
The Millikan Concert Choir is comprised of 10-12th grade treble and bass students. They sing a wide range of advanced music in four to eight parts. The group has performed all over the state of California on their yearly tour of the state. Auditions for Concert Choir take place in the first week of April. Group size 100.
Chamber Choir
The Millikan Chamber choir is comprised of 10th-12th grade advanced students. The focus of the class is performing difficult traditional choral music from a variety of time periods and genres in many parts. Group size averages 44 singers. Group members perform at local festivals and go on a yearly retreat.
Vocal Ensemble
The Millikan Vocal Ensemble is a small group of advanced students who sing contemporary a cappella music and vocal jazz. The group is highly sought after for performances on and off campus throughout the year. Auditions for Vocal Ensemble take place in March for all MHS or transferring students.
Vocal Point
The Millikan Vocal Point is a small group of advanced treble singers who sing contemporary a cappella music and vocal jazz. They routinely perform at local community events and festivals throughout the west coast. Auditions for Vocal Point take place in March for all MHS or transferring students.
Varsity Chorale
The Millikan Varsity Chorale is a group comprised of 9-12th grade beginning singers. The group focuses on basic musicianship and the foundations for quality tone production. Auditions for Varsity Chorale take place in April for current students and in May for incoming freshmen men.
Incoming freshman must sign-up when selecting classes with their Millikan counselor in the Spring of 8th grade. Audition info will be mailed after singing up with your counselor.
Cecilian Singers 2016-2017
The Millikan Cecilian Singers are a group of 9-12th grade intermediate and advanced treble singers. The group focuses on advanced singing techniques while singing a diverse repertoire of choral music. Auditions for Cecilian Singers take place in March for current students and in May for incoming freshman.
Choraleers
The Millikan Choraleers are a group of 9th grade beginning and intermediate treble singers. The group focuses on basic singing techniques and musicianship skills. Auditions for Cecilian Singers take place in May for incoming Freshman.
Incoming freshman must sign-up when selecting classes with their Millikan counselor in the Spring of 8th grade. Audition info will be mailed after signing up.
