Race Location
The 5-mile trail is located in Mahomet, IL at Lake of the Woods Forest Preserve. Mahomet is about 10 miles west of Champaign-Urbana on I-74. Since the course runs right through the west parking lot, the main "staging area" will be the small west lot which is located off of Crowley Road just north of the Mahomet-Seymour High School.
The 5-mile course is marked with brown sign posts. The same brown posts mark every 1/2 mile point. There are three loops that intersect to form the full 5-mile course. A big outer loop, a medium inner loop, and a small inner loop. If you follow the brown sign posts you'll be fine.
NOTE: The high school has a 3-mile cross country course that shares some of this trail. It is marked with yellow disks on the ground--ignore those yellow disks!
