Who We Are
The Midewin Tallgrass Prairie Alliance (Midewin Alliance) was incorporated in 1997.
Is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization.
Is comprised of conservation, environmental, and sportsmen's groups and individuals.
Our members share a common interest in working with the U.S. Forest Service in planning, developing, and maintaining the Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie - our nation's first National Tallgrass Prairie.
What We Do
To serve as an advocate and "Friend of Midewin" by supporting and promoting prairie habitat restoration at the Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie.
To represent the interests of Midewin Alliance members, Midewin visitors, and Midewin volunteers.
To be the public voice for the Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie.
To promote an appreciation and better understanding of the unique tallgrass prairie ecosystem through communication, education, and interpretation.
Our Shared Vision with Midewin for the Future
