College and Career Pathways: view workshop video recordings and find resources, handouts, and links to statewide employers and agencies regarding all aspects of the college process, including planning checklists, financial aid, the college search, etc.
Financial Aid & Managing College Costs: presentations and resources regarding college financing.
Tips For Comparing Colleges: in addition to the information provided in the MiddCAM Handbook, this site offers a reminder of the things that mentees should be considering as they add/remove colleges from their lists.
Things mentees should be focusing on right now:
Maintaining strong grades
Testing: it is important that mentees stay up-to-date on testing information as well utilize the prep courses/resources available for the SAT and ACT. A lot of useful preparation materials can be found on the College Board and ACT websites
Making a college list: don’t forget to use Naviance as a resource and a way to consolidate all the mentee’s information regarding the college process. School visits are obviously unrealistic right now, but doing research and virtual tours via colleges’ websites can be a really great way to narrow college lists.
