Library directors at selected MICUA libraries agree to extend reciprocal borrowing privileges to the students, faculty, and staff of participating institutions, subject to local policies and restrictions.
Each participating library will be responsible for lost book replacement charges incurred by its faculty, staff, or students if they do not respond to recall requests, overdue notices, or other billing by participating libraries. Any participating library may withdraw from the agreement at any time by notifying the other libraries of their intention to do so.
Members from participating libraries may be asked to show proof that they are patrons in good standing at their home institution (e.g., an ID that includes an expiration date; a letter from the Library Director on library letterhead or an email from an appropriate Library staff member such as a Circulation or Access Services staff member stating that the member is a patron in good standing). The home institution may block a patron from using this service at any time.
Borrowers should plan on returning any borrowed material to the library from which it was borrowed. A borrower’s home library may choose to offer the option of allowing its members to return materials from other MICUA libraries to it and then handling the return to the lending library itself.
The following MICUA libraries have agreed to participate in this reciprocal borrowing agreement:
The above libraries also agree to not charge each other for the lending of Inter-library Loan materials.
