It's a bit like hare & hounds. Follow the flour trail laid by the hare. Keep your eyes peeled, and there are false trails so you can run as fast as you want to checking out the dead-ends for the pack.
Walkers welcome!
Trails go wherever looks interesting; find some running routes you'd never have thought of.
We typically run cross-country in the light summer evenings, but retreat to the lit streets in the winter.
Social drinking after each run. Some of us have a few pints, some have a pine, some have a soft drink so that they can drive.
Down downs - do something silly and get a drink.
The Hash House Harriers (H3); the 'drinking club with a running problem'.
An international club founded by a British Soldier in Kuala Lumpur back in 1938, it is based on the old English game called "Hares and Hounds".
A typical Hash will find two "hares" laying a flour (or chark as some dog walkers think flour is out there to posion their dogs) trail through the streets and countryside for the rest to follow the markings
with checks leading on false trails (Shouts of "On back!") and one "true trail" (Shouts of "On On!").
The runners are slowed down by the checks, enabling the walkers (w*nkers) to catch up. Anybody with normal physique can take part in a hash run!
The run is followed by a "circle" where newcomers and visitors are celebrated, and other traditional ceremonies take place.
