I participated in paleontology field expeditions in Washakie County, Wyoming during the summers of 2002, 2003, 2007, and 2012 through the Marshall University College of Science where I gained experience with locating fossils, identifying geological formations, screen-washing soil, prospecting, land navigation, operating a global positioning system, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team of researchers. I also worked intermittently as a Graduate Assistant from September 1, 2006, through December 31, 2007, in a Biology Department paleontology lab where I created 3-D imagery of fossils using a laser scanner. I was honored to have received a Sigma Xi scholarship from NASA to use the laser scanning equipment to create imagery for an online database.
