I am a lecturer (assistant professor) employed at Department of Informatics, King's College London. My research field is computer vision. My current focus is on visual learning and understanding with minimal supervision. My projects include object detection, crowd counting, visual relationship detection, and intrinsic image decomposition.

I received my Ph.D. degree from the Key Laboratory of Machine Perception, Peking University in 2015, where I was supervised Prof. Chao Xu and also co-advised by Prof. Dacheng Tao. During my PhD I had the privilege to visit both University of Oxford and Inria Rennes for a year respectively, where I worked with Prof. Andrew J Parker in Oxford and Dr. Hervé Jégou in Inria. Afterwards, I did my post-doc at University of Edinburgh with Prof. Vittorio Ferrari. From Dec. 2017 to Dec. 2019, I was at LinkMedia team, Inria Rennes as a full time Research Scientist. Jan. 2020: I join King's College London as a Lecturer in Artificial Intelligence !!!

Apr. 2019: I teach a master course "Vision and Learning" at Tongji University between 15th to 26th (24h). I am also invited to give a talk at Shanghai University on 23th with topic "非结构化大数据挖掘及案例研究" Pics.
Mar. 2019: I am the Chinese winner of the F2 Innovation award by France China Committee !!!
Jan. 2019: I am awarded as the Principal Investigator (PI) of NSFC Joint Research Fund for Overseas Chinese Scholars. It is a two-year project, the topic is using transfer learning to detect visual object and their relationships. I will mainly collaborate with Tongji University.
Oct. 2018: I am invited do both a keynote and panel discussion at the FranceIsAI conference. My keynote is titled "Linkmedia: from multimedia content analysis to collection analytics" while my panel is about "China is AI: perspective on the booming Chinese AI ecosystem". Videos
