Miaojing Shi received his B.E. degree from Tongji University, Shanghai, China, in 2010; and his Ph.D. degree with the Key Laboratory of Machine Perception (Ministry of Education), Peking University, Beijing, China, in 2015. Between 2012 and 2013, he was with the Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics, University of Oxford, Oxford, U.K., as a Ph.D. student; and between 2014 and 2015, he was a visiting Ph.D. student with the Institut National de Recherche en Informatique et en Automatique, INRIA, Rennes, France. He was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Edinburgh between 2015 and 2017. He started a research scientist position at Inria Rennes Linkmedia team since Dec. 2017. His research field is computer vision and multimedia. His current focus is visual learning and understanding with minimal supervision. He has worked on image retrieval, object detection, semantic segmentation, crowd counting and tracking.
