The Workshop

Of particular interest is the workshop Friday morning (April 13) on ERGM -- stochastic modeling of networks. It will be taught by Ann McCranie of Indiana University. It starts at 8:30am (well, officially at 9 but if you anticipate issues with installing the software Ann will be there at 8:30). There is a break at lunch, then there is a 1-3pm session. We have class at 2, so it would make sense for people to go to the morning session.

Two software packages will be used for the workshop.

The first will be PNet for Single Networks. Under the header PNet for Single Networks, you should download the .jar,.dll, and .pdf files. Please note that this will not work on a Mac OS, so you must install this on a Windows Machine or on Bootcamp/Windows on Mac: http://www.sna.unimelb.edu.au/pnet/pnet.html

The second package will be statnet/ergm in R. It can be used on a Windows machine or a Mac. You can find instructions for downloading here: http://www.statnetproject.org/installation.shtml

Software instruction will be the last half of the workshop and will include demonstration - so if you are not bringing a laptop, you can still get some exposure to the packages.
