Ringer
A Fun Season-long Optional Tournament
The Ringer Tournament extends throughout the year, beginning with the first Individual Stroke Play event in January and ending with the last Individual Stroke Play of the year. A Ringer event is scheduled for each month during the year. For all 27 holes, your best net score for each hole is used for your Ringer score.
You can sign up at any time during the year, but the earlier you sign up, the better your chances of winning (history has shown a player playing all 12 events has a better chance to win versus someone who plays 8 events). The entry fee for this tournament is $25 for the entire year. There will be 12 events during the year (the Individual Stroke Play events) where the golfers score will count towards his Ringer score. An attempt will be made to play an equal number of rounds on the three nines, although we cannot guarantee this.

Format
During the course of the season, a player's best net score on each hole during the Individual Stroke Play events will be maintained by the MGA Committee. At the end of the season, that player's best net score for each 27 hole scores will be used as his score in this tournament. Using a player with an 18 handicap (one stroke per hole – all 9 courses) playing hole #1 on the Valley has the following gross and net scores as follow:
January Gross-8 Net-7 Ringer Best Net Ball Score-7
March Gross-6 Net-5 Ringer Best Net Ball Score-5
April Gross-5 Net-4 Ringer Best Net Ball Score-4
June Gross-6 Net-5 Ringer Best Net Ball Score-4
July Gross-4 Net-3 Ringer Best Net Ball Score-3
September Gross-6 Net-5 Ringer Best Net Ball Score-3
October Gross-7 Net-6 Ringer Best Net Ball Score-3
December Gross-5 Net-4 Ringer Best Net Ball Score-3
As seen in the example, the best net score for the year was 3. Net score for Valley hole #1 would be 3 for this tournament. That process is done for each hole and all 27 best net ball for each hole are add up for the best net round for an entire year. One nice part of this tournament is that your tournament score only gets better during the year (can’t go up).
Flights
Flights will be determined by handicaps as of the first of the year based on the number of participants. Net score is determined for the handicap of the player for that round.
Payout
This is a ca$h payout tournament. Payout for the Ringer Tournament will be the same as for Saturday events - that is, it will depend on how many players are in a flight. At the end of the year, winners will be paid in cash at the Annual Dinner (if not sooner).
Rules
One ringer eligible event will be scheduled on individual play day each month (usually on the first Wednesday). If any ringer round is rained out, or otherwise canceled, a replacement round will be scheduled at the next available opportunity. The net score for each hole will be used to calculate the total for the 27 holes. Best (lowest) total for the 27 holes determines the winners in each flight. Should a player not be able to play all 27 holes over the year, that player is eliminated from the Ringer Tournament.
