A Season-long Tournament
The Ringer Tournament extends throughout the year, beginning with the first Individual Stroke Play event in January and ending with the last Individual Stroke Play event prior to the MGA Championship and Annual Dinner in December. Entry into this tournament is voluntary. You can sign up at any time during the year, but the earlier you sign up, the better your chances of winning. The entry fee for this tournament is $25 for the year. There will be 12 events during the year (the Individual Stroke Play events) where the golfers score will count towards his Ringer score. An attempt will be made to play an equal number of rounds on the three nines, although we cannot guarantee this.
Format
During the course of the season, a player's best score on each hole during the Individual Stroke Play events will be maintained by the MGA Committee. At the end of the season, that player's best 27 hole scores will be used as his score in this tournament.
Flights
The Net Division will be flighted as follows:
First Flight - Handicaps 0-7
Second Flight - Handicaps 8-14
Third Flight - Handicaps 15+
Sign-up and Entry Fees
You can sign up for this tournament at any time, but only those scores made after you sign up will count, so sign up early. Contact Leo Clark prior to play to sign up.
Entry fee for this tournament is $25. You should pay the entry fee to Dave Phelps who will hold the funds in the MGA account at Guadalupe National Bank.
Payout
This is a ca$h payout tournament. Payout for the Ringer Tournament will be the same as for Saturday events - that is, it will depend on how many players are in a flight. Click here to see how the prize money is awarded based on size of flight. At the end of the year, winners will be paid in cash within a week following the final event of the year.
Rules
One ringer eligible event will be scheduled on individual play day each month (usually on the first Wednesday). If any ringer round is rained out, or otherwise canceled, a replacement round will be scheduled at the next available opportunity.
The NET field will be flighted by tees played. Flights will be Blue/Senior Moorish Flight, White and a Green Flight.
During the year, a player may change tees in Ringer events. However, a switch from Blue/Senior Moorish to White/Green will require a player to begin the tournament from scratch (all scores nullified to that point). A switch to a longer tee is allowed, but the player will still be flighted with the shorter tee players.
All final-score ties will be scored as ties (no score-card play-off).
