I am a development and health economist studying how institutions, early-life conditions, and public policy shape health and socioeconomic outcomes in low- and middle-income countries. My work has appeared in leading journals including the Journal of Development Economics, with recent work accepted at the Review of Economics and Statistics. Supported by organizations such as Grand Challenges Canada, the Hewlett Foundation, and the National Institutes of Health, my research bridges academic scholarship and policy relevance. I am also an active teacher and speaker, with more than 50 invited talks, including a TEDx Talk. I currently serve as Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, Research Affiliate at the University of Pennsylvania’s Population Studies Center, and Faculty Fellow at AALIMS.
