After finishing the project with group members I have learned that working together makes work better creative and stable. I learned how to apply engineering equations on finding bending stress and angle on sheet metal. Aso technical issues like spring back was a new lesson to me.
Furthermore I had no idea to make Gantt chart and on EVA analysis but exploring more resources gave me enough knowledge in software like Microsoft Excel and Ms project. I also learned to compare SPI and CPI values with EVA.
Through this project I have learned a lot. By doing risk analysis I have learned what are the safety measures needed to be applied while machining and the importance of PPE in the workplace.
In addition to that google site creation helped me and my group members to explore more in site design and help ourselves keep updated among us regarding the changes we made through till date.
After completing this project, I learned to work within a group in a limited time frame. In this project I mainly participated in the design of the product when starting the project, I have only a limited knowledge in designing now I improved my designing skills. I learned a lot of shortcut methods in SOLIDWORKS software for designing. I learned how to calculate the drill size for threaded holes. Overall it was a great experience for me and I enjoyed this very much.
As a team we have learned enough knowledge in schedule planning, cost management and designing. From the scheduled timeline, we learned to visualize tasks ahead of time and improving the methodology for our project. This also helped to identify task relationships and thus learned to run similar tasks parallelly. Change in the scheduled date reflected on the EVA chart and SPI values get changed. Thus we were tried our best to keep SPI on time.
In addition to that team also learned to manage cost within budget. We found places to get parts at cheap rates. Following a budget plan helped us to keep out of debt. We learned time is money and wasting time costs a lot. Also budget helped to organize spending well to keep CPI out of over budget.
