Welcome to the homepage of
Amy Chung-Yu Chou aka the Notorious A.M.Y.
I am a Program Manager in Health AI, AI for Social Good at Google. I joined Google in 2016 and my work is focused on public health, research and innovations, oncology, crisis response, pandemic preparedness, sustainability and carbon mitigation. I help lead our cancer support network, and have a special interest in sarcoma, brain cancer, and organ transplant reform. I strongly believe in the power of convening and bringing together experts across multiple (and often disparate) domains to tackle hard problems together.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from the University of Chicago (yes, English majors can be gainfully employed!) and was formerly a research assistant to neuroscientist Christof Koch at Caltech.
I am very grateful to the University of Chicago for awarding me the Napier Wilt Prize (2012), the David Blair McLaughlin Prize (2012), and the Margaret C. Annan Prize in Nonfiction (2011). However, I must confess that the accolade I am most proud of is when I was voted "Best Person to be Stranded With on a Deserted Island" by colleagues in Google's Health AI team.
