I am a cancer survivor. I sometimes feel like my life is one long episode of Larry David's "Curb Your Enthusiasm," or a lovely combination of SNAFUs and blessings-in-disguise. I am obsessed with good writing, iced tea, shabu shabu, and movies (especially films by Wes Anderson, Ang Lee, and Woody Allen). I also enjoy spending time with my husband, Ueli Rutishauser, a brilliant Swiss neuroscientist whom I met while working as a research assistant at Caltech.
I grew up in Pasadena, CA, where I attended Westridge School from 4th through 12th grade. In what feels like a previous life, I studied ballet and enjoyed performing in the dramatic arts.
I graduated from the University of Chicago in June 2012, where I majored in English Language and Literature with an honors concentration in Creative Writing.
