My research interests range from modulating the optical and electronic properties of the layered host through chemical modification to in situ studying the phase transitions in 2D crystals. The focus of my past research falls into three categories: (1) developing zero-valent metal intercalation and deintercalaiton chemistry; (2) investigating the structural phase transitions (including CDW, and superlattice) induced by intercalation; and (3) studying the optical and electronic properties of the layered host after intercalation. Details can be found in the Brief Introduction page. My future work will continue concentrating on both the fundamental science and technological applications of 2D materials.
