Local Counselors / Therapists

From time to time children and families may experience stress, worry, or emotional difficulty. At school, your child's school guidance counselor or school adjustment counselor is an excellent resource. Outside of school, many families find counseling to be a valuable coping tool. Below is a list of some local providers.*

*Please note that this is only a partial list of local contacts. This list is provided as a courtesy, but is not an endorsement from myself or the district I work for.  Please check with your pediatrician, friends and family for additional referrals. Your child's school district is not responsible for costs or co-pays. Speak to the provider and your insurance company to determine if the provider accepts your insurance and to understand what your financial obligation (i.e. co-pays) will be. When making an appointment, you may also wish to ask about specialties and how certain issues (e.g., ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, etc.) are treated.

Additional information can be gathered through agency/counselor web sites, Facebook, LinkedIn, Psychology Today profiles,(https://www.psychologytoday.com) and Health Grades. COVID-19 protocols are constantly changing and influence availability of in-person counseling sessions as well as type of Tele-health therapy appointments provided. Check with your insurance company regarding tele-therapy, co-pays, deductibles and special COVID coverages.
