After the rise of graphene, it was intuitive that other materials with layered structure, like graphite, could also be exfoliated or synthesized. Among these, few are listed below with corresponding existing applications:
1) Hexagonal Boron nitiride (h-BN), also called white graphene - 2D insulator
2) Transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs, as they are called) like Molybdenum disulphide (MoS2), diselenides which cover a whole range of band gaps from metallic to semiconducting.
3) Other new 'enes' are Germanene, Silicene and Phosphene.
