FAQs
What is Meander?
Meander is a tool to visualize read-depth and pair-end information as it originally comes from NGS machines at various resolutions. Its main purpose is to provide intuitive visualizations for an easier exploration or detections of structural variations.
Why use Meander?
There are several reasons why to use Meander:
It is very interactive and very easy to use
It is platform independent and it requires zero knowledge of programming
It is able to show information at different resolutions
It uses both a linear and a Hilbert representation to visualize data
It allows interactive data filtering
It is able to overlay predicted variations
It allows individual visualizations for each sample
It is able to directly compare two individual between each other
It has a self-understandable and dynamic navigation to coordinate users while browsing the genome
It is open-source and code can be adjusted to the needs of other projects.
