Dr. Md Zunaid Baten is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). He received his PhD from the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA in 2016. Prior to this, he obtained his MSc and BSc degrees from the Department of EEE, BUET in 2012 and 2009 respectively. Soon after his graduation in October 2009, he joined the Department of EEE, BUET as a Lecturer and since then he has been serving here as a Faculty member. At present he is on sabbatical leave at the Institut national de la recherche scientifique (National Institute of Scientific Research), Quebec, Canada as a Postdoctoral Fellow.
Dr. Zunaid's research interests lie in the areas of solid-state physics and electronics, novel electronic and optoelectronic devices, photonics and nanotechnology. He leads the Solid-state Electronics and Photonics (SSEP) research group, which explores both theoretical and experimental aspects related to design, fabrication and characterization of novel electronic, optoelectronic, photonic and spintronic devices and systems.
Dr. Zunaid is actively involved in numerous voluntary activities relevant to his field of education and research. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and was the Chair of IEEE Electron Devices Society/Solid-state Circuits Society (ED/SSCS) Bangladesh Chapter in 2024. He is currently an Member of the Executive Committee of IEEE ED/SSCS Bangladesh Chapter. He is also a Vice Chair of the EDS Region-10 Sub-Committee for Regions and Chapters.
Details of his academic records, research experience, professional and synergistic activities can be found in his extended CV, which is available here for download. If you have further questions, please feel free to contact.
