I first started out with a Bounty Hunter LandStar in January 2010, but soon upgraded as time passed. My first finds consisted of modern coins and a button that was from the 1800's !
My next metal detector was the Legacy 3300, again, this was a Bounty Hunter product.
It served me well and found coins, loads of them, it was great at finding quarters and dimes, but not so good at finding nickels for me. After about 3 months with this I upgraded again, this time I moved to a product made by Fisher, this being the F4. As you can see, the two are very simular with their layout and controls, but they are not the same unit. The F4 was a coin hog and a silver magnet. The features and controls of the F4 are much more advanced than that of the Legacy 3300, it can be ground balanced better for a start.
I soon moved up to the Fisher F5 in the late summer, it has more user control than the other two. It's also a coin hog, it will find any coin with ease. It's also great on silver items. The one thing that I've found thats better with the F5 is it's ability to find nickels and gold ! With the F5 I've found over $30.00 in nickels since late August (2010) where as the other metal detectors have not found very many ! I've also found 4 of the 5 gold rings with the F5, it's a hot little number !
I now also own Fishers Gold Bug Pro, can't wait for spring to come round and melt all this snow so I can go out and play !
Added a new detector the to the fray, the Garrett AT Pro.
Love the way this detector works, and on my first day out with it I find a 1942 Merc Dime !
Well, one week in and I've found 2 gold rings with stones in them !
Seems like this is going to be my perfect jewelry hunting detector !
Added a new detector ..... Minelab X-Terra 705.
My first jewelry find with it, a 24K Gold ring !
November 2011.........
Added a new detector to the collection, now own the
E-Trac to complement the X-Terra 705.
All the other detectors I've owned have been sold.
I now have Minelabs CTX 3030, below is a file that can be downloaded and imported into Xchange 2 for your own use.
I also still have the AT Pro as a backup.
