The McCully Lab is home to several SCU students, and we are often looking for more! We welcome students from any STEM major and generally prefer that students have completed the Introductory Biology Experience (BIOL 1A/1B/1C) before joining the lab. If you enjoyed Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or Molecular Modeling, you may find our research exciting, though they are not by any means prerequisites.
If you are interested in joining the lab or finding out more, send Dr. McCully an email describing your interest in the lab and your relevant experience, if any. You may attach a resume or CV if you have one. Students typically work full time during the summer and 3-6 hours/week during the academic year. The best time of year to contact Dr. McCully is November-January, as deadlines for internal fellowships for summer funding (e.g. SPUR, REAL) are in March.
Unfortunately, we prioritize SCU students in the lab.
Dr. McCully is not part of any PhD programs and does not have funding for postdoctoral fellows. Unfortunately, these types of positions are not available in lab.
