Summer research goes virtual

May 29, 2020

The lab celebrated the graduations of seniors Andrew Bigler, Natali Gonzalez, Catrina Nguyen, Brigitte Li, Lauren Verheyden, Parwana Khazi, and Lauren Yearwood with a virtual escape room. With only four seconds to spare, we regenerated the cosmic energy orbs housed in the Eiffel Tower to prevent the world from spinning into a black hole! Not bad for a day's work in the (now virtual) lab.

For the summer, undergraduate research is going 100% computational and virtual! Students will be using molecular dynamics simulations to determine the basis of thermostability in a family of three-helix bundle proteins and predict their ability to bind DNA.
