The Fund was initially established by Frank O. and Deirdre A. (née Davis) McCollum with the mission to support charitable causes in communities with which they are close to. Initially created with an endowment from the founders, a commitment to continue to grow the endowment with annual donations from the founders and their immediate family has been made.
While we are based in upstate South Carolina, we also have strong ties with the Charlotte NC, Alabama, and Tennessee communities and our giving tends to be focused in these regions. We enjoy giving to our local community, even if it requires stretching the definition of “local” in these modern times where families are spread out and work has become an increasingly mobile engagement.
