Scholarship and Grant Opportunities

The Monroe County Indiana Branch of the NAACP is pleased to award two scholarships and one book + educational materials grant to local high school and college students as they pursue higher education. These opportunities are possible because of the generous support of the IU Credit Union, the McCluskey family, and the Freedom Fund Banquet.
Criteria
Two $1500 scholarships and one $500 book + educational materials grant will be awarded to students who meet the following criteria:
Local high school senior or a rising sophomore or junior at Indiana University or Ivy Tech Community College
Completed application were due by March 22
Application
A completed application must be submitted in order to be considered for the scholarship or the grant. The application can be accessed via the following form:

Scholarship winners must provide proof of enrollment (e.g. course schedule) before funds are dispersed.
Timeline
All applications were due by March 22. Applicants will be notified of the status of their applications no later than April 11. Each scholarship winner will also be awarded a one-year NAACP membership.
