Scientific Method Web Quest
Task:
You work at a School Science Supply company and you and your co-worker have been given instructions by your boss to create a project and give a presentation on how the scientific method works. This will potentially be up for sale to teachers all around the world to help their students learn the scientific method. Be professional, be creative, and stay on task so your boss doesn't fire you!
Requirements:
For each of your parts of the scientific method you need to find:
1. What it means (define words if needed).
2. Why it is important to do while performing an experiment.
3. Give an example of what it would look like during an experiment.
4. A picture/image of something that reminds you of that part of the method.
Co-worker A, it is your job to find the information on the following parts of the scientific method. (1. ask a question, 2. test your hypothesis, 3. communicate your results.)
Co-worker B, it is your job to find the information on the following parts of the scientific method. (1. research, 2. construct a hypothesis, 3. analyze your data & draw a conclusion.)
Directions:
Use the links below to search and gather information. AFTER you have gathered all of the needed information, you and your partner will need to work together to combine the parts into one power point. Your PowerPoint should include one slide PER PART of the scientific method and one slide that contains a flow chart of how the process works and the order of the process. (hint...use Microsoft word & the bubbles with arrows!) I want you to be as creative and thoughtful as you can be while doing this project. This is important information for you to know as we continue on throughout the year. When you are done with the PowerPoint, it needs to be uploaded to Edmodo.
