Labor shortages and skills mismatches present major challenges for Germany and other advanced economies, intensified by the retirement of baby boomers, digitalization, and the green transition. These shifts are transforming labor demand, job structures, and skill needs, deepening the gap between available and required skills.
Our research group uses modern methods like microeconometric analyses and randomized controlled trials to develop evidence-based policy solutions. We focus on education, immigration, gender, family, and pension policies, examining their interplay to sustainably address labor and skills shortages.
