The Velocity Project is a seasonally-based exercise routine that focuses on strength, flexibility, and explosion training throughout the entire year. The year is sectioned into four main training periods which has a specific are of focus. The season begins around March for most players so in-season maintenance occurs from March until end of July; then post-season preparation will take over until September; and then power and strength will last until January; and, finally, January through beginning of March explosion training is the focus.
In-Season Maintenance Program Keeping your pitcher healthy, sharp, and performing at their best from Opening Day through the final out. Our in-season maintenance program is designed to preserve arm strength, maintain body mechanics, and prevent the fatigue and overuse injuries that knock pitchers off the mound mid-season. Through targeted mobility work, arm care routines, and carefully managed strength sessions, we keep your pitcher's body ready to compete every time they take the ball — without overloading a arm that's already working hard.
Post-Season Preparation Program The off-season is where velocity is built and careers are made. Our post-season preparation program gives pitchers the recovery time they need while strategically rebuilding strength, correcting mechanical inefficiencies, and laying the physical foundation for a breakout next season. We start with active recovery, move into a structured strength-building phase, and finish with a progressive throwing program designed to have your pitcher arriving at spring training healthier, stronger, and throwing harder than ever before.
Power & Strength Program Velocity starts from the ground up — and our power and strength program is built to develop every link in the kinetic chain. From explosive hip drive and core stability to posterior shoulder strength and arm durability, we train pitchers the way elite programs train: with purpose, progression, and position-specific exercises that transfer directly to the mound. Whether your pitcher is just beginning to lift or ready to take their training to the next level, this program meets them where they are and builds the physical foundation that separates good pitchers from dominant ones.
Explosion Training The difference between an 80 mph fastball and a 90 mph fastball is not just strength — it's speed of force production. Our explosion training program develops the fast-twitch muscle fibers and neuromuscular speed that allow pitchers to express their strength faster, generating more power through the delivery in less time. Through plyometrics, rotational med ball work, sprint mechanics, and max-intent throwing drills, we train pitchers to move explosively from the first step off the rubber to the moment of ball release — because in pitching, fast wins.
