However, you may earn 2 bonus points for taking your opponent down directly to their back (back exposed).
3. Defending an takedown attempt, resulting in the defending athlete securing back control "on the ground" of their opponent will result in the defender being awarded 2 points. An athlete will be deemed to be "on the ground" when a knee, elbow, head or any portion of the back touches the mat.
4. Stepping out of bounds will result in a point.
5. Other standard passivity and caution warnings and points may be awarded.
6 Once a takedown has been scored, the clock will stop. Wrestlers will reset and the clock will start again.
7. The wrestler with the most points scored at the end of the two periods will be declared the winner.
8. If at any time one wrestler is ahead by ten points or more, the match will end and the winner will be declared via a "technical fall."
9. Overtime Procedures: A) One minute sudden death period will be wrestled. B) If the score is still tied at the end of the sudden death period, the winner will be the wrestler who had the most takedowns in the match. C) If both wrestlers have the same number of takedowns, the winner will be the one with the most bonus points. D) If still tied, the winner will be decided by a coin flip.
