I am a retired teacher from Summit High School, in Summit NJ, with over 20 years experience teaching all levels of H.S. Physics, from freshmen Physics through senior AP Physics.
Degrees & Certificates:
B.A. from New York University with a double major in Physics and Computer Science
M.A. in Educational Administration and Supervision from the Rutgers Graduate School of Education.
NJ K-8, HS Physics, Principal, and Supervisor certificates.
I have been teaching for over sixteen years; the last ten years teaching Physics and Astronomy at Summit High School in Summit N.J.
I have taught courses and tutored students in physics at every level from freshman through senior, from basic physics through AP courses. My clients have been from public and private schools located in Chatham, Madison, Maplewood, Millburn, Scotch Plains, South Orange, Short Hills, Springfield, Summit, and Westfield, including students from these prestigious private schools: Newark Academy, Pingry, St. Peter's Preparatory. Every student has improved their achievement level substantially after working with me for just a short time.
Prior to teaching I worked as an Information Technology specialist, manager, and consultant in the financial services industry in New York, London, and Toronto for over 18 years.
In addition to Master Physics Tutoring, I hold a private pilot's license, have extensive experience in solo wilderness backpacking and survival techniques, and am the sole proprietor of a local photography business, PK Photography, specializing in portrait and event photography (www.peterkop.com).
I live in Westfield, N.J. with my wife, and travel the country much of the year in our RV travel trailer, with most summers spent in our cabin on a small island off the coast of British Columbia.
Solar power and satellite internet allow me to tutor from wherever we find ourselves.
