Always follow the path that leads to improvement of self and service to the community.

The mission of Winchester Masonic Lodge No. 56 is multifaceted. It continually strives to provide service to the community and the greater world. This mission is accomplished in different ways. One way that the Lodge strives toward this mission is to improve each individual by raising him to the sublime level of a Master Mason. This aspect of it's mission helps prepare the individual mason to seek further light in order to understand the instructions outlined on his personal trestle board by the Supreme Architect of the universe throughout his life . In doing so, each mason reaches out to the community to improve it through humble service and a strong moral compass.

Beyond raising a man to the level of a Master Mason, the Lodge seeks out opportunities to create a fellowship of brotherhood as its existence is deeply rooted as a social Fraternity. The fundraising activities and charitable events foster a creative drive for a team working toward reaching a common goal together; activities, dinners, and the like, are the common ground for discussion and leisure that cements a bond of unity among ourselves and our families; and our meetings, rituals, and ceremonies are the brick work that we continually build upon that provide each mason with spiritual and moral direction, through a better understanding of The Supreme Architect of the universe, to spread further light into the world.

So by working both individually and collectively, masons seek to make the world a better place by first making themselves better men according to a grander outline upon the trestle board for each of their lives and then by spreading this light to their communities and the rest of the world through humble service.
