How To Become A Freemason

The world's oldest and largest fraternal organization, known as speculative Freemasonry, has lodges all over the world. Freemasons use traditional rituals and symbols to emphasize moral and ethical lessons to be upheld throughout one's life. In order to become a member, an individual must petition a lodge, allow an investigation of their character to be made by an investigative committee of Freemasons, and then be voted in by a secret ballot election. Upon becoming a mason, there are three levels or degrees, the Entered Apprentice (EA), the Fellow Craft (FC), and the Master Mason (MM). Each degree will build upon the others and focus on increased levels of both moral and spiritual development.

Basic Membership Requirements

              1. Believe in a Supreme Being of the Universe.

              3. Be a resident of Indiana for at least 6 months.
