PRESIDENT
Linna Morrow
Hello, my name is Linna, and I’m in my fourth year at UMD! I’m from northern Japan and majoring in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics & Criminology and Criminal Justice on a Pre-law track. I’ve been with Maryland’s equestrian club since the spring semester of my first year, and this is my first time riding. Since this is my first time, every riding practice and interaction with horses has taught me a new lesson. Still, all those interactions with our horses have made me love them more and more. Outside of equestrian and school, you’ll find me crocheting more stuffed animals than my room can hold, practicing archery, dancing, and reading books. I look forward to helping the club in any way I can!
VICE PRESIDENT
Jane Thurber
Hi everyone! My name is Jane, and I am a sophomore accounting major from Montgomery County, MD. I grew up riding English and competed in hunter equitation through high school, joining MEC during my freshman year at UMD. Outside of MEC I spend my time weightlifting, crocheting, and birdwatching. I look forward to being your Vice President!
FINANCE DIRECTOR
Rachel Dorn
My name is Rachel Dorn and I am currently a senior at UMD studying aerospace engineering. I am from Southern Maryland so I've been around horses most of my life. I currently volunteer at a local horse rescue where I sponsor and ride a horse named River. I am super excited to be on the MEC board this year and look forward to all the good things that will come.
MEMBERSHIP AND SOCIAL DIRECTOR
Ella Sabzevari
Hi everyone! My name is Ella and I'm a junior majoring in Animal Science on the pre-vet track. I'm also a veterinary technician at a veterinary dermatology and a general practice clinic! I have loved connecting with our horses since arriving to campus and am so glad to have found MEC! Apart from my love of animal care, I play electric guitar, run, and love to travel. I'm so excited to be your Director of Membership! Roll Terps!
FUNDRAISING DIRECTOR
Gabi Riess
Hi, I'm Gabi Riess. MEC was one of the first clubs I joined as a freshman, and have always admired the welcoming community! I've participated in many of the club activities throughout the year and am excited to give back. When I'm not at the barn, I spend my time learning guitar and training and grooming dogs. I'm excited to be your Fundraising Director this year!
SERVICE DIRECTOR
Lindsey Markowitz
I got my start in the horse world at the ripe age of ten and never looked back, spending much of my childhood and teenage years as a working student taking care of and riding horses until life inevitably got in the way. After a nearly 10 year break, I joined MEC in Fall 2024 to rekindle my lost hobby. MEC has been an amazing opportunity to help care for our herd on campus, and I'm excited to give back to MEC and the community that it fosters as the Service Director. Outside of horses I enjoy reading, hiking, bowling with the TerraPINS bowling club, and visiting my family and our five dogs in New Jersey.
Head of Lessons
Josephine Trevino
Hello, my name is Josephine Trevino and I am serving as the Maryland Equestrian club’s 2025-2026 Head of Lessons. I have been an apart of the equestrian community since I was 7, riding, working, and competing in a variety of disciplines. I have been a part of the Maryland equestrian club since I was as a freshman, partaking in both lessons and chore. This year I will be working as a TTI as well as a board director, and my goal is that through these positions I will be able to help my fellow Terps reach their riding goals during their time at the University of Maryland.
