Maryland Club Tennis Finishes 2nd in our MD Fall Invitational!

This weekend, Maryland Club Tennis, hosted its annual Maryland Fall Invitational that saw 16 teams compete for the trophy. Maryland had both an A and B team competing with Maryland A finishing in 2nd place!

SATURDAY: Maryland A and Maryland B both competed in three round robin matches in their respective pools to determine their place in either Sunday's Gold or Silver Bracket. Maryland A made its way to the Gold Bracket defeating the University of Pittsburgh, University of Delaware, and Johns Hopkins University. Maryland B had tough match-ups against the University of Virginia, George Washington University, and Towson University and booked their place in the Silver Bracket.

SUNDAY: In the first round of the Silver bracket the Maryland B team fought hard against Villanova University, but would be defeated. In the Gold Bracket, Maryland A started off strong with a win over Old Dominion University that sent them to the semifinals against George Washington University. The semifinal went the distance - the mixed doubles team of Subodh Arora and Sarah Bernstein ("Marrie") stayed tough and dominated the super tiebreaker to send the Terps into the finals. In the finals, Maryland faced familiar rivals University of Virginia and were hungry for revenge after their Battle of the Sections loss. Unfortunately, it would be UVA who would prevail victorious again, but nevertheless the Terps gave their best and are optimistic for the rest of the season.
