Maryland Club Tennis finishes 2nd at Battle of the Sections!

2012 marked the 6^th anniversary of the tournament held at the US Open Courts in which sixteen Tennis on Campus teams from four USTA Sections competed for the trophy, including Eastern, Mid-Atlantic, Middle States & New England.

Competing teams played three round robin matches on Saturday to determine their place in the gold, silver, copper and bronze brackets. Maryland defeated Pittsburgh, Syracuse, and Brown in dominating fashion to advance to Gold Bracket finals on Sunday.

On Sunday, the University of Maryland advanced to the finals with a strong victory over Penn State setting up an all Mid-Atlantic final against long time rival, University of Virginia. UVA and Maryland battled it out for over 2hrs, but in the end it was UVA who would take home the Championship trophy. Nevertheless, the Terps held their heads high and are excited for the rest of the season.

Outside the competition, the team got to head into the city Saturday night for an amazing dinner provided by Emily's parents and also got to hit on Arthur Ashe Stadium!
